Travel in Corona Times – What to Think About?

The corona virus changed our world almost overnight and many of us may not even dare to think about going on a holiday trip yet. But the thought of being able to travel on vacation or why not visit relatives and friends haunts many of us. And sometimes you just have to travel. Can be at work or for other things. What is it then that you should think about if you are going out and traveling?

PCR test for entry – A requirement for entry to many countries

A PCR test is already required by many countries to be allowed to enter the country. As the situation for many countries can change quickly, it is important that you stay up to date on the latest instructions for each country.

You will find constantly updated information and advice and instructions on the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ website. Remember that tests for travel certificates are not included in the testing of suspected COVID-19 that is funded by the state. This means that if you are going to test yourself for a trip, you must bear that cost yourself.

PharmaUse Testcenter makes this process easy, smooth and fast for you by getting an answer on the same day.

Our PCR Tests

In addition to antigen and antibody tests, we offer in collaboration with Triolab, as the first private player on the market in Sweden, PCR rapid testing. This collaboration allows you to get your test result and travel certificate quickly. We use the PNA instrument VitaPCR for our PCR rapid tests. This is the same instrument that Region Skåne uses at the emergency rooms in Helsingborg, Lund and Malmö.

The collaboration with Triolab and the use of the PNA instrument VitaPCR gives us the opportunity to analyze the sample on site and you can get an answer on the same day.

Our SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR tests are accurate with a sensitivity of as much as 99.7% and specificity of 99.3%. This makes our PCR tests the most reliable PCR test for detecting ongoing infections.

How to do a PCR test?

To do a PCR test, you need to make an appointment. You can do this easily via our website. There you can choose on which of our units you want to do the test, which test you want to take and choose the time that suits you best.

The PCR tests are taken by swab in the pharynx and / or posterior nasal wall. It does not hurt and is fast and easy.

When you have done the test, you will receive an answer on the same day. You will receive the answer via SMS to your phone where there is a link to the test answer and your travel certificate.

European Parliament recommendations for travelers

Being informed of each country’s entry requirements is the traveler’s responsibility. It is therefore important that you stay up to date on the entry requirements for each country as they may change. Sweden Abroad  has updated information but it is also good to visit the national information page for the country you are traveling to to see current  entry requirements and restrictions.

The Council of Europe has compiled recommendations for travelers during the pandemic:

  • Book tickets and check in online to avoid queues, whenever possible.

  • Respect social distancing during baggage drop-off and drop-off, security checks, boarding and baggage drop-off.
